Oh my word what a busy few weeks.
Busy, rushed, and fun, fun, fun and more fun.as promised we made the layered turkeys and considering I'm dealing with 2 and 3 year olds I think they did really really well. the organisation and working with a order in which to do things certainly made those little minds work
Then we got stuck in on some cotton ball painted Christmas trees, don't think we will ever need paint brushes again
From here we moved on to cotton wool snowmen, to say they had a ball making an ewwee gewee mess, would be an understatement, but the results were stunning
Considering we are supposed to be in the middle of summer right now the weather has been, as you can see from the pictures, well pretty awful. So we have spent an awful lot of time indoors. Then eventually last Friday the sun came out, so my eldest daughters boyfriend, my daughter and myself decided it was as good a time as any to build a water wall. So with the old shed door some cut of bottles a few screws and drawing pins a bit of old hose, hours of fun was created.
Then needless to say the heavens opened again. So it was packed away for another day and out came the play dough.
We have also been doing a lot of sensory play. Sensory bins are becoming an all time favourite. Last week we did cooking equipment in sand and this week we did the sea shore. The kids love the excitement of what is it? Where did it come from? How does it work? The discussions are endless.
In amongst all of this we have moved my daughters horse to a new farm, where im happy to say she is wonderfully happy and settled

Then we had my wonderful mother in laws 84th birthday, she could give some much younger people a run for their money. My middle daughter Shannon decided at the wise old age of 11 that it was her job to make granny's birthday cake. So with the help of an amazing recipe(to follow) she did it and iced it all by herself, I have to say I'm really proud of her.
So back to the school, we decided, we just had to do santa's face and some bells but we were a bit tired of painting so out came some tin foil and glue and cotton wool, oh boys so much fun
Then at last the sun decided it would come out and it is beautifully hot, so out came our water wall, our coloured water and the sprinkler. The children have had an absolute ball and cost absolutely nothing. Barring the sunblock ofcourse.
So today is Shannon's birthday and she loved granny's cake so much she decided to have the same recipe again. (pics to follow)
