What a productive fun exciting and an all in all amazing day.
First of all we decided our toy boxes needed sorting out, so all 3 super size toy boxes were tipped all over the play room floor. Then we took a vote to see which toys went where. Then we made it a game to see who could pick up the most toys the quickest. Needless to say this was the easiest any clean up has ever gone, and we now have a box for Lego a box for soft guys and box for "other".
Then we all moved outdoors to make sticky sand

the recipe for this is so easy and it's thanks to growing a rose website.
5 cups playpen sand
3 cups flour
1 cup cooking oil
Simply let your little ones mix and mush till their hearts are content
This was fun enough, but we added to it by making it a 3D shape activity

when then got a little boring we added shells and made a beach
then of course as you do at a beach, you have to make sand castles so out came some cups and blocks and castles we made
even our littlest ones thoroughly enjoyed this activity, getting mushy without the dirt.
From there we decided to make lady bugs, so out came egg boxes.
We simply cut the bottom of the egg boxes into sections, painted it added black dots and stapled on a face, you could use Pom poms and wiggly eyes from your local craft shop but by now I had a bunch of tired kids. Those same tired kids didn't want to quit painting though so we used the tops of the egg boxes to make nests for our bugs.
